As i mentioned in the previous post, i've got another part time job in a Japanese restaurant on every weekdays in the coming holiday. I started the job yesterday and YAY! it was quite fun though i was a little bit too tense up! As a matter of fact, i never worked as a waitress nor thought of working in restaurant.
zero experience GAH. nevertheless i do play Restaurant City! teehee :D
The clue where am i working! Obvious enough? :p
The first thing i learn when i got there was how to read the menu, sigh. It would never be an easy task because there're around freaking 200 plus plus dishes to be memorized! I was cracking my head and dumbstrucking while the handsome assistant manager explaining each category of food, eg appetizer, sashimi and sushi, hot pot specialties, grill& deep fried specialties, doburi& menrui, bento-platters&party set and teppanyaki.
Confusing? There're more to come! Those japanese-isssh nouns like ebikko(this one maybe most of u will know), unagi(guess u all know..), hotate(hm...), negitoro(hmmm...), mentai(hmmmm....), hamachi(??), anago(???), tamago(apa tu?), ameabi, tai, ebi, ika, kani fumi.......
I gotta hafal all of them! Yes! i've to. The coming up were greeting customers, taking customers' orders, serving green tea(which called genmai/ocha) and food, cleaning up before, during, and after the servings. Awww, i find it fun! :) When the customers coming in, we must greet them with I RA SHI MA SEI (idk how to spell lol), which means WELCOME! the manager kept on urging me to
shout speak, but tht i was toooo shy! :X I scared i'd shout the wrong pronunciation eg I RAI SAI MAI SAI XD
Then the side jobs while there're less customers are cleaning the running track of sushi, refilling the chopsticks, toothpicks, tissues, wasabe so on....& so forth. The works were not tiring, so far, but the part i hate the most is the design& structure of the seats, awww! making me difficult to do my assigned works! I had to walk/climb/claw in and out all the time only :(
The menu is with me right now, guess i will be sleeping and shitting with it for the entire week! i gotta key in all the nouns into my birdbrain before being tested by the manager! :P
